CAP Research

The Changing Ageing Partnership (CAP) focuses on influencing policy reflective of the needs of older people. The Institute of Governance at Queen’s University is contributing to this goal by creating a dynamic and multidisciplinary research centre. This is achieved by carrying out research and awarding small research grants and PhD studentships.

Each year under the auspices of CAP, the Institute of Governance provides funding for full time PhD studentships focused on various aspects of ageing. In 2006 three studentships were awarded joint supervising three doctoral candidates with the Schools of Law, Sociology and Politics, International Studies and Philosophy. In 2007 one studentship was awarded to the School of Sociology, Social Policy and Childcare Studies. Details of the CAP PhD studentships can be found here and information on the PhD students and their studies can be found here. Three further CAP studentships are currently available closing date 11 January 2008, details can be found here.
