About Age Concern Northern Ireland
Age Concern Northern Ireland is a voluntary organisation committed through campaigning, community development and service provision to improving the quality of life of all older people and to promoting their rights as active, involved and equal citizens. We act as a Northern Ireland-wide campaigning body and support a network of local Age Concern Groups operating throughout Northern Ireland . We offer policy advice on a range of issues which impact on the lives of older people.

About Help the Aged in Northern Ireland
Help the Aged is an international charity dedicated to creating a world where older people can live their lives free from poverty, isolation and neglect. The charity carries out research, campaigns for improvements in policy and practice and provides practical services to help older people stay independent.

About the Institute of Governance, Queen's University Belfast
Queen’s University Institute of Governance is a centre for interdisciplinary research and learning on governance, public policy and social research from local to global. With funding from The Atlantic Philanthropies, the Institute offers research and policy evidence on ageing to support age sector organisations and inform politicians, government and policy-makers. Underway since 2006 are a number of short (one year) and long (three year) research projects on young people’s perceptions of age; medication regimes in nursing homes; smart housing and happiness and longer term projects on crime, fear of crime and economic rights of older people.

The Workers' Educational Association began organising classes in the north of Ireland in 1910. It is the largest voluntary sector provider of adult education in Northern Ireland with 5000+ learners a year. It is a company limited by guarantee and a registered charity. Its vision is of a prosperous, creative and cohesive society where everyone is a learner. Its mission is to make learning irresistible. There are offices in Belfast and Derry/Londonderry and projects based in Ballyshannon and Truagh.
